No child should sleep on the floor.

Across Cherokee County, children are sleeping on floors, on couches, and on shared mattresses. We strive to build each one a bed of their own — with a blanket, sheets, a pillow, and a Bible — and deliver it free. Help us meet the need in our community.

Why we do this

“Pure and undefiled religion before God the Father is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction.”

James 1:27

A cross is branded into the headboard of every bed we build. We do this work because Scripture calls us to care for children in need — and we never leave a home without praying with the family and giving God the thanks.

The ministry

Started in a workshop, carried by a community.

Carol sews the blankets and buys the supplies with donations. Danny builds the beds, with the help of others who give their Saturdays. Together, over seven years, they’ve delivered more than 300 beds to children across Cherokee County.

Most children come to us through Child Protective Services and 4Kids4Families — kids sleeping on floors or sharing with siblings. We build a sturdy bed, deliver and set it up in the home, and pray with the family before we go.

When a family needs more — food, clothing, furniture, or kitchenware — we try to help with that too.

How it works

From a request to a bed made up with prayer

  1. A request comes in

    CPS or 4Kids4Families emails us a form with the family’s information.

  2. We call the family

    We set a delivery time and confirm the room is cleared for set-up.

  3. We deliver

    We gather helpers and bring it all: bed, mattress, sheets, pillows, blankets & a Bible.

  4. A prayer together

    We never leave a home without praying with the family.

  5. Whatever else is needed

    Food, clothing, furniture, kitchenware — we help where we can.

About 90% of requests come from CPS & 4Kids4Families — the rest from churches, organizations, and neighbors.
